The emotional resonance of so many of the stories is memorable and impactful. For someone who already has a pulse on parts of the globe, these stories bring to life the challenges of extraordinary people from many corners of our global village. I find myself craving more.

I love Rough Translation for its broad cultural explorations and am sad it will be canceled. Do you have to have a new name because of copyright issues? I’m concerned about the name Rough Transition because it infers difficulty in making the switch from NPR. Would that title follow the new show to be people having a hard time with transitions in their lives? Is that what you intend?
Maybe I misunderstood the original show’s title but I assumed that the title of Rough Translation came to be because the show tried to roughly translate cultures for other audiences. Following that reasoning, it seems to me a show about rough transitions will change the focus of the show.

Rough Transition is a personal project that I've started - with a lens to understanding lives in transition. It's a lens I'm particularly drawn to now, but I think you'll see resonates with the sort of storytelling you've enjoyed on Rough Translation.
