Gregory and the team have such skill and weaving together engaging stories that draw us closer and make the stranger into someone familiar. The emotional resonance of so many of the stories is memorable and impactful. For someone who already has a pulse on parts of the globe, these stories bring to life the challenges of extraordinary people from many corners of our global village. I find myself craving more.

Hi Team of Rough Translation, including Gregory! I wanted to say your show has helped me get through rough transitions. Listening to the amazing and thoughtful stories of people around the world is an extraordinary experience that you (sometimes) can't just buy. Thank you so much for your work to bring back the new season (and the last) on NPR. I'm convinced that you will find a new home for the show very soon. Until then, stay strong and healthy!

I love Rough Translation for its broad cultural explorations and am sad it will be canceled. Do you have to have a new name because of copyright issues? I’m concerned about the name Rough Transition because it infers difficulty in making the switch from NPR. Would that title follow the new show to be people having a hard time with transitions in their lives? Is that what you intend?

Maybe I misunderstood the original show’s title but I assumed that the title of Rough Translation came to be because the show tried to roughly translate cultures for other audiences. Following that reasoning, it seems to me a show about rough transitions will change the focus of the show.
